THE OSPREY - Progress Photos
BC Housing has formally recognized our efforts and have committed to funding a large portion of the NDAHS Housing Project. The expected costs, and their financial commitment are still being assessed. The participation of BC Housing is necessary to attract funding from other government, private sector and financial institutions. We are very pleased to have achieved this milestone. Soon the Construction Documents, Engineering Specifications and Building Permits will be secured and building can begin.
You can find out more about the funding here.

Site and Situation - New Denver is a small community (population= 485, area=0.4 square miles) that supports a larger community of villages, towns and unincorporated areas that make up the greater Slocan Valley (approximate population=2200, approximate area=12,900 square miles). The building site sits within a block of the main crossroads of Hwy 6 (north/south) and Hwy 31A (east/west). These transportation arteries are main thoroughfares through the valley allowing easy access to surrounding villages and communities. The road systems are kept well cleared through the winter months and public transportation is easily accessible all year round. The southern exposure across the parking area for the creekside park allows for excellent southern exposure (solar gain).
